The right assessment
for the road ahead.

Choose your collection equipment. Choose your assessments. Each combination feeds the same destination: Road Triage — the Transportation Intelligence Platform.

What we assess.

Each assessment type is available individually — purchase the ones your agency needs. Assessments are priced identically within a given collection tier.

Pavement Condition

Pavement distress detected, classified per ASTM E1778 terminology, and measured via the Road Triage Perception Engine. Identified distresses are reconciled across multiple frames into one persistent real-world distress with a stable geometry, so the same crack is tracked from cycle to cycle. Crack widths are analyzed per ASTM E3303 and AASHTO R 55. Applied to both asphalt and concrete surfaces.

Cracking — longitudinal, lateral, fatigue, and edge cracks. Sealed and unsealed variants are detected independently, so prior maintenance is preserved in the next score rather than hidden by it.

Surface defects — potholes and edge drop-offs.

Repairs and maintenance — patches and prior repair markers tracked across cycles to measure how long a fix actually lasts.

Progression tracking — each identified distress carries a persistent identity and observation history across surveys, so a crack seen quarterly produces one record with a growth history, not four independent records to reconcile manually.

Change detection — automatically identifies segments where conditions improved, held steady, or declined between assessment cycles.

Five scoring methodologies to choose from — the same standards inform each score:

RT-PCI (0 to 100) — D6433, E3303, E1778, R 55
RT-PASER (1 to 10) — Wisconsin PASER, D6433, E3303, E1778, R 55
RT-CCI (0 to 100) — E3303 (primary), R 55, D6433, E1778
RT-PCR (0 to 100) — ODOT DSE, D6433, E3303, E1778, R 55
RT-SDI (0 to 100) — FHWA SDI, D6433, E3303, E1778, R 55

Traffic Signs

Signs on the roadway are located and classified into MUTCD-aligned categories. Detected signs are GPS-located, condition-rated, and tracked for change between survey cycles. Detection is fully end-to-end, with no separate localization pass required. The underlying taxonomy expands as additional sign families reach the required detection accuracy.

Regulatory — Stop, Yield, Do Not Enter, Wrong Way, Turn Left, Turn Right, Merge Right, School Zone, School Text, plus generic regulatory and prohibition (no-X) signs for less-common MUTCD codes.

Warning — Stop Ahead, Yield Ahead, Signal Ahead, Pedestrian Crossing, Railroad Crossing, Construction, plus generic warning signs.

Guide and wayfinding — Interstate shields, federal U.S. route shields, state route markers, generic Guide signs, Services (gas, food, lodging, hospital), and Tourism signs.

Persistent identity — detected signs carry a stable ID across surveys, with classification and visible condition accumulating across observations.

Change detection — flags missing, displaced, or significantly degraded signs between cycles. Because each sign carries a stable ID across surveys, "is sign #14238 still there" is a real query to ask the integrated Robo AI agent.

Pavement Markings

Lane and intersection markings inventoried and rated for presence and visible condition. Continuous lane-paint families are scored separately from discrete painted symbols, so faded edge lines and a chipped turn arrow are not averaged into one number. MUTCD retroreflectivity thresholds are out of scope.

Lane-line families — center lines, lane lines, and edge lines, detected as continuous segments. Presence and visible-condition rating travel with the segment.

Curb edges — physical curb tracked separately from painted line, so a worn curb does not drag down an otherwise good edge-line score.

Intersection markings — crosswalks, school-zone markings, railroad-crossing markings, yield lines, and stop bars.

Lane-use symbols — directional arrows, ahead arrows, bicycle-lane markers, bus-only markers, and "ONLY" lane-use markers.

Persistent identity — detected markings carry a stable ID across surveys, with visible condition (present, faded, absent) accumulating across observations.

Change detection — present, faded, and absent classification with delta tracking across cycles.

Pavement & Roadway Assets

Continuously updated inventory of vertical infrastructure, drainage and utility access, traffic-control equipment, pavement features, and roadside furniture. Detected assets are GPS-located and carry a persistent identifier across survey cycles, enabling change detection rather than re-counting.

Drainage and utility access — manholes, hand holes, valve covers, stormwater drains (metal-grate and concrete-inlet variants), stormwater pipes, utility boxes, utility markers, transformers, and telephone pedestals and repeaters.

Traffic-control infrastructure — traffic signal heads, traffic cones, and construction barrels.

Safety and barriers — guardrails (metal and wire-rope), bridge railings and joints, and road barriers.

Roadside furniture and amenities — utility poles, street lamps, fire hydrants, parking meters, mailboxes, benches, bus shelters, and trash cans.

Rail crossings — railroad and track segments tracked alongside related crossing signage and pavement markings for a unified crossing record.

Persistent identity and change detection — detected assets are tracked across surveys. New installations, removals, and position drift are reported automatically as change events.

Need something specific?

The Road Triage Perception Engine is built to be expandable. If your agency has unique detection or measurement requirements — custom object classes, specialized distress categories, or domain-specific assessments — we may be able to address them. We have been working in AI for over a decade.

Discuss Your Needs

Choose your equipment.

The tier you choose determines how data is collected — not what assessments are available. Both tiers run the same Road Triage Perception Engine and deliver the same standards-based scoring. The difference is the collection hardware and the additional measurements it enables.

* Raw consumer-grade GPS can drift by several meters in real-world conditions — too much for distress-level work order accuracy. Road Triage reconciles position across multiple frames over time, combining GPS with imagery (Advanced) or with the SSI Inertial Profiler (Enterprise) to deliver positioning accuracy substantially better than raw GPS alone, anchored to the actual road geometry the camera sees.

Maximize your investment.

We recommend 6 assessments per year to catch seasonal damage and maintain continuous coverage. Higher frequency qualifies for volume pricing.
